Senior Electrical Supervisor

Reporting to: Craft Area Superintendent

Job Purpose

The Senior Electrical Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all electrical craft activities on-site. This role involves supervising one or more discipline Supervisors overseeing electrical trade teams. The incumbent ensures that all electrical works are executed safely, on time, and in compliance with quality standards, project specifications, and company HSE requirements. The position also includes close coordination with subcontractors and other discipline supervisors to ensure successful execution across all phases of construction.

Main Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of the electrical work scope, workload, project specifications, and technical drawings related to electrical systems and installations.
  • Allocate electrical work areas to Supervisors under your leadership and clearly define their responsibilities, ensuring performance is monitored—especially regarding HSSE compliance.
  • Provide direct supervision and technical guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of all electrical activities.
  • Ensure electrical works comply with applicable standards, codes, specifications, and client expectations.
  • Coordinate with Project Control to monitor work progress and mobilization of manpower, tools, and materials. Manage the distribution of CWPs (Construction Work Packages) to Supervisors and contractors when AWP methodology is implemented.
  • Verify adherence to safety protocols and job skill requirements. Lead corrective actions when necessary. Organize on-site technical sessions, workshops, and toolbox talks to build team capability.
  • Develop and maintain a three-week lookahead schedule with input from the Superintendent and Planning team. Prepare a weekly execution plan aligned with this schedule.
  • Track and review daily and weekly progress of electrical installation and resource utilization (labor and materials) in coordination with the Superintendent and subcontractors. Identify risks to safety, quality, or schedule and propose corrective measures.
  • Provide daily updates on installation and erection progress to the Construction Superintendent.
  • Ensure the preparation and implementation of Electrical Method Statements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Risk Assessments, and Mitigation Plans.
  • Confirm that all incoming electrical materials comply with specifications, and ensure their proper storage and maintenance. Monitor material and spare parts management.
  • Enforce site cleanliness and good housekeeping practices among subcontractor teams.
  • Inspect subcontractor prefabrication and erection tools and equipment to ensure they are suitable and in good working condition.
  • Coordinate pre-commissioning activities in close collaboration with QC Inspectors and the Electrical Construction Superintendent.
  • Support client audits by collecting, verifying, and analyzing required documentation and field data.
  • Perform any other related tasks as requested by the Craft Area Superintendent.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bac +2/3 in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnics, or related technical trade.
  • Preferred Profile: Cross-disciplinary site experience and in-depth electrical technical expertise.
  • Global Experience: Less than 3 years.
  • Specific Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar supervisory role on large industrial construction projects, particularly in mining, petrochemical, or chemical
